How does your shopping cart security work?
All transactions on the Professional Investigator
site are handled over a secure server connection. In most browsers, such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer, a "secure lock" icon (yellow padlock) will show up in the bottom right of the window. When you see this, you know that any information you send across the internet is encrypted in such a way that it would take all of the computers in the world working together, longer than the age of the universe to break the encryption! We think that's fairly safe!
At any time, you can double-click the padlock icon to see details of the security certificate. RegNow!
(who handle our online transactions) use a VeriSign certificate for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) transactions. VeriSign certificates offer strong RSA-based encryption for secure transactions and allow a wider variety of browsers to be used than with certificates from other companies. Netscape Navigator versions starting at 2.0 are supported as well as Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 3.0 and above. All of this means that your credit card information is sent directly to the credit card processor in a very secure manner, so that nobody else can see it. That protects you by ensuring that nobody but you and the credit card processor will see your card.
