Is it safe to use my credit card on the Internet?
This varies from one site to the next. All transactions on the Professional Investigator
site are handled over a secure server connection. In most browsers, such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer, a "secure lock" icon (yellow padlock) will show up in the bottom right of the window. When you see this, you know that any information you send across the internet is encrypted in such a way that it would take all of the computers in the world working together, longer than the age of the universe to break the encryption! We think that's fairly safe!
At any time, you can double-click the padlock icon to see details of the security certificate. We use RegNow, a subsiduary of DigitalRiver, to handle all of our online transactions, who have taken great precautions to ensure that your credit card information is kept secret.
RSA security is generally regarded as some of the strongest that is available. With these security precautions in place, your order is as secure as phoning an order into a mail-order software house. In fact, it is statistically safer to use your credit card over the Internet than in a restaurant or department store.
Nevertheless, if you prefer, we also offer you the option of paying by check/money order, credit card by fax, or purchase order. Simply proceed with on-line order as normal, until
you reach the checkout, where you will be able to choose an alternative payment method, for a small administration fee.
