Can PI link to Corel WordPerfect or Lotus Word Pro Instead of MS Word?
Unfortunately not. :-(
When mail-merging, Professional Investigator completely controls MS Word.
It needs to be able to do this to make your mail-merging seemless. In order for this to happen, Microsoft has built in all sorts of 'smarts' into Word which neither Corel WordPerfect nor Lotus WordPro (used to be called AmiPro) have.
Basically, they need to change before we can.
Having said this, we would certainly recommend that you convert to using MS Word if you are using one of the others.
Why?
a) It's a very good, powerful word processor.
b) It is the 'industry-standard' now.
c) Almost, and we do say almost, all PC users use or have access to Word.
d) Word 'DOC' files can be read by everything.
e) Professional Investigator links to it seamlessly :-)
