** This only applies to Professional Investigator v3 or earlier **

which will solve this problem.

This is an error caused by Windows 2000 being unable to fully support 16-bit applications.  It normally occurs when you move your mouse pointer over the Minimize, Restore and Close buttons in the top right corner of these 16-bit programs, including Professional Investigator v3.

To get over this problem, we have written a small program which you should run on any Windows 2000 computers running Professional Investigator.

Download this program onto your Desktop, and then simply double-click it to correct the problem for that computer. You will be presented with a brief explanation of the problem, and asked if you are ready to start. Once the program has run, you will need to restart your computer. You will need to run this program again on any other Windows 2000 computers on which you intend to run Professional Investigator.

Note:

This 'wow32' error is entirely separate to the mail-merge problem described in FAQ028.  If you are having problems mail-merging in Windows NT or Windows 2000, please see FAQ028 for more information and a solution.
